Eden Prairie Selects EFJ, Inc.’s EFJohnson Subsidiary for Upgrade to Project 25
EFJohnson to assist in migration from Multi-Net® to Project 25
Irving, TX – July 24, 2007 – EFJ, Inc. (NASDAQ: EFJI) announced today that its EFJohnson subsidiary has received a contract from the city of Eden Prairie, Minnesota. The contract, valued at $2.9 million, calls for EFJohnson to provide its Ascend™ Project 25 compliant portable and mobile radios and replace the city’s APCO 16 800 MHz communications system with a Project 25 system.
George F. Esbensen, Eden Prairie fire chief and emergency preparedness director, said "Police, fire, and school departments use the system to protect the more than 60,000 residents of this city. EFJohnson has provided us with a secure and reliable communications system. We are looking forward to using the new system and to upgrading to Project 25." Added Michael E.
