I have one similar to that and it works ok mobile for what I need.

thanks for the input, I was just wondering because I have an antenna I purchased at radio shack, a through the glass mount and it doesnt pick up very well. I will be about 3-4 miles out of town and all it will mostly be all scratchy. Just wondering if this antenna would help?

Well, just about anything is better than a glass mount.
