I receive MNRP on 159.090 Mhz with a DCS code of 631 with traffic to units in the Baltimore area from Tawes. I don't see it listed in the DNR pages in this datebase, but the seached the freq on this site. The search returned the callsign WQAM220 from Howard County. Did the State of Maryland take this freq over from Howard Co.? I know that this freq was used by Howard before they switched the PD to the County TRS.

I seams that by adding 159.090 that there is less radio traffic on the old standby of 151.205 Mhz.

Md Dnr

I've been monitoring several new repeater outputs that they have licensed. I haven't figured out what they are doing yet other than some are multi-casting the same traffic.
Some of the new ones I've heard on the air are: 151.2425 multicasts with 159.3825, 155.37 and I think its been either multi-casted with the 159.09 or that may be its input. The 2425 seems to be the more powerful of the multi-casts as I can hear it over a large area of MD as well as home in WV and work in the Winchester area.

I copied 155.370 loud & clear here in Reistertown on a PL of 103.5 and the unit acknowledged Tawes.

1430hrs copied 159.3825 loud & clear in Reisterstown on a DPL of 731 unit talking to Gwynbrook.

Speaking of NRP frequencies....Nathan- have you any insight on where MD is with the supposed long-term goal of building a statewide trunking system for MSP/NRP, etc? I recall locating some online documents (at the tail end of the prior state administration's tenure) and it seemed they were leaning in that direction....but I've yet to see anything definitive.

No Sure

Nothing definitive as of this time Dave. There is alot of talk about it and the new Gov wants it and is really pushing for it. It would greatly improve communications for alot of Agencies.

Hmmm. Maybe we'll hear more soon. I also noted a Summer 2007 press release from Sen. Mikulski, regarding a larger than expected DHS grant to MD for communications-related expenditures (related story: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/07/18/AR2007071801507_pf.html ). The various MD state & MD local govt communications grant packages total near $100 million. Will be interesting to see how these funds are applied.
