Yeah, I'm aware of this as well. Mr. Peterson has built a great site. Obviously, he put a ton of work into it, and it's very much appreciated. But the Mobile area section of the website has not been updated since I can remember. For instances, he notes BNSF got sold to AGR..... that's been over twenty years ago, but no frequency updates listed.
From his website "Five roads serve the Mobile area including CSX, Norfolk Southern, Illinois Central, Burlington Northern-Santa Fe and the Terminal Railway-Alabama State Docks railroad."
It's different now.
Thanks though.

Thank you, @laidback

I was going to say that, indeed, the list hasn't been updated in a while (although I just did a bit of updating). However, we were just there last year and all the frequencies were still valid with the exception of the changes to the NS (I just updated those and fixed the AAR number for TASD). Also, there is indeed a note on the BNSF being sold to the AGR that has been up there for well over 15 years.

I always have a band in my scanner for all 92 AAR channels when traveling out of area.

With social media becoming so popular, nobody really visits websites any longer, hence I haven't updated in a while. I am on the fence as to whether I even want to keep the site up (although I do have a good bit of pictures/videos I can add).

Speaking of social media, there are a couple good railfanning resources on Facebook for Alabama. You might try asking there:

I could not find any railfan groups specific to the Mobile area.

Thanks John, you're saying all the frequencies were still valid with the exception of the changes to the NS (I just updated those and fixed the AAR number for TASD). Does IC still run to Mobile? I thought I read where CN bought them out.

CN did purchase the IC and they now operate as CNIC. The operations around Mobile that used to be IC are now operated by the Alabama Export Railroad. Never specifically heard any comms from them, that I am aware of, but here is the FCC license info (3 freqs):

My understanding is that CNIC operates at least one train in/out of Mobile daily but I wasn't able to catch one. I don't know the intricacies of the CNIC/ALE operations but I believe the CNIC brings the trains in and hands them over to ALE when they enter Mobile and the reverse for trains heading out of Mobile. More info on the ALE:

The main (road/dispatcher) freqs for CSX, NS, and TASD are correct after I updated it today (I need to remove the IC channels and add the ALE). There are numerous yard frequencies in use that you will catch around the Mobile area. I didn't document what all these were last time we were down there. If you want to catch as much communications as you can, the best bet is still to have all AAR channels in your scanner in one bank and maybe the main road/dispatch channels in another. I usually do this and note the channels I hear, then look up the licenses later for verification of which road was using the channels.

The once busy McDuffie Coal Terminal was a shell of its former self when we were there last year. We used to see CSX, CN, and TASD power and coal trains there in years past but it seems pretty quiet now. There is a new intermodal terminal right beside it but I don't think they are rail served yet. Truck/ship only from what I can tell.

I picked up no signs of any NXDN/digital usage in the Mobile area by railroads when there last and I don't think it is crowded enough, in terms of RF, to require this yet. I have only picked up digital usage by one railroad (NS) in Alabama so far.
