CN did purchase the IC and they now operate as CNIC. The operations around Mobile that used to be IC are now operated by the Alabama Export Railroad. Never specifically heard any comms from them, that I am aware of, but here is the FCC license info (3 freqs):
FCC FRN: 0028835924 (ALABAMA EXPORT RAILROAD INC.)

My understanding is that CNIC operates at least one train in/out of Mobile daily but I wasn't able to catch one. I don't know the intricacies of the CNIC/ALE operations but I believe the CNIC brings the trains in and hands them over to ALE when they enter Mobile and the reverse for trains heading out of Mobile. More info on the ALE:

The main (road/dispatcher) freqs for CSX, NS, and TASD are correct after I updated it today (I need to remove the IC channels and add the ALE). There are numerous yard frequencies in use that you will catch around the Mobile area. I didn't document what all these were last time we were down there. If you want to catch as much communications as you can, the best bet is still to have all AAR channels in your scanner in one bank and maybe the main road/dispatch channels in another. I usually do this and note the channels I hear, then look up the licenses later for verification of which road was using the channels.
The once busy McDuffie Coal Terminal was a shell of its former self when we were there last year. We used to see CSX, CN, and TASD power and coal trains there in years past but it seems pretty quiet now. There is a new intermodal terminal right beside it but I don't think they are rail served yet. Truck/ship only from what I can tell.
I picked up no signs of any NXDN/digital usage in the Mobile area by railroads when there last and I don't think it is crowded enough, in terms of RF, to require this yet. I have only picked up digital usage by one railroad (NS) in Alabama so far.
