Here are a couple pics of a Uniden 780xlt and a FT-7800M mounted in my 1996 Toyota 4Runner. I needed a low impacted install. I didn't want to drill any holes or screw anything into the dash because I don't know how much longer I'll have the vehicle, and I didn't want to affect the resale value.
So, I went to Home Depot and bought around $4 is PVC pipe and made a contraption I could attach a ram mount ball to. You can't see it in the pictures but there's a two foot section of PVC on each side of the center console that wedges down between the seats and runs parallel with the tracks the seat sides back and forth on. I drilled a hole in the PVC next to the RAM ball mount and ran all the wires through the PVC to the back seat floor board. This way the wires won't get caught on anything if someone moves the seat back and forth. It actually turned out more stable than I expected. The great thing is I can remove it all in a matter of seconds and it super lightweight. The audio on the 780xlt is nice and loud too. To mount the FT-7800M I pulled out the cup holder about an inch and use a piece of Velcro.
