This system is in the RRDB already.

On the Poestenkill site (R13-93), I get mostly affiliations and registrations. The only two identified talkgroups I see belong to school districts on the other end of the state (Livingston and Genesee counties) and only a single RID showing for each one. I am also seeing the same type of activity on TGID 60004. No voice traffic yet, so still unidentified.

I suspect Sites 93 and 94 are primarily for school buses roaming to the Capital District. TG60004 does not appear to be a valid TG ID. How are you observing it.

I have seen TG 60005 show up on rare occasions in my DSD+ logs but never with any traffic. Whatever these 6000x are they do not appear to be voice TGs.

Also, this morning I am hearing conversations between Canisteo buses and the High School. Again, many counties away.

EDIT: I suppose there could be lone Canisteo and LeRoy buses somewhere within range of Poestenkill. Is there a school bus repair garage near here?

Schools often do field trips to the Capital District that I assume was a motivation for adding sites there. A big feature of Mobiletech for school districts is they have coverage when their buses go out of the home district for sports or field trips.

You will also hear out of area TGs if a Mobiletech sales rep or tech is in the area and they are monitoring the TG. Monitoring known busy TGs is a way to get traffic on a site for a demo or coverage check.

Yeah, I know how trunked systems operate. Thanks.

It would also be nice if we could reply to DB rejections. I reported missing data from the update I got this morning. Turns out it was last week's update.

Your submission last week was rejected because the info was already in the RRDB. Updates are generated on Monday for Sentinel, not sure about other updates. Submissions are to update and correct the RRDB so if you have issues with updates you should take it up with the provider of the updates if the info is correct in the RRDB.

I was explaining why Mobiletech TGs often appear outside of the normal home area. I was not explaing "how trunked systems operate".

Missed the point again. The info was in the RRDB for the 9/29 update. When I updated Sentinel on 9/29, it retrieved the 9/21 update, which did not contain the indicated information.

And roaming is a feature of most trunked systems nowadays.
