How does setting the priority work in terms of actual priority and then the priority override?

Also in the event log, I see a pri of 0, but in the channel window it shows 50. What does this mean?

If it means something, I'm using only one sdr.

I am quite new to DSD+ so my answer might not be correct, but I will give it a try.
If you look at the file DSDPlus.Groups, you should be able to see the groups associated with your system number. You can change the priority field with a text editor, even while DSD+ is running. Or you can use the Misc command - Select Group and then Edit priority from the DSD console. Then you can use the Control - Monitoring Threshold to set the group priority. If, for example, you set the threshold to 44, then all groups with a higher priority number will be muted. All groups with a priority of 44 or less will be audible.
I am not sure what you are seeing in the event log.
Hope this helps.
