Interesting. This is quite a reversal. How many times have we seen the Wall Street Financiers tell us that combining two companies would create new "synergies" and other such balderdash.

Here we have a company being split up to make it leaner, more responsive, and to reduce bureaucratic costs.

Apparently the Chinese government discovered a conflict of interest and mandated cell phone divestiture or face getting kicked back to the States and high labor costs.
