If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Does anyone know the cheapest price and place/link to purchase a new housing case for a HT1250 radio?

I am looking to replace just the housings on a few ht1250's. I do not need the buttons, seals etc just the housing but will take the whole kit if needed.

Any advice, part numbers, links, etc greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

I just need the outter housing. Basically looking to clean up some working UHF HT1250's that have scratches and blemishes. Apprx 15-20 of them. Some are conv and others are LS+ units. If you could also please include the price for the HT1250 and HT1250LS+ sticker decals also since I dont think they will re-stick securly if I reapply them to the new housings.

Not sure if the date codes matter but most units have the orange seal and some have the blue seals. I would imagine all the replacement housings are compatible with all version HT1250's, but not sure.

Thanks again for your help and looking forward to replys.

It's much better to just replace it with one of these kits.

The actual piece of plastic that makes up the front cover - without knobs, buttons, labels, or the shiny gold thing that makes up the accessory connector - is:
1580666Z01 COVER, FRONT,ASSY PREF BASIC $7.60 Count 1 pack

Other stuff:
1386058A01 ESCUTCHEON, UNIVERSAL CONN $11.00 Count 24 pack (shiny gold thing)

Unfortunately the nameplates (Motorola and HT1250) aren't available to everyone. Only certain dealers can get those (NOT me, so don't ask. :))
