On way down to Andrews show Sunday on I-95 near Whitemarsh area north of Balt saw
unmarked new light blue Ford Mustang with vehicle pulled over and strobe lights in grille.
MSP own this? Very nice! Was in 55mph area so guess he keeps busy.
Just a heads up if in that area and some Mustang seems to want to race with you..LOL

I saw two last saturday night near the White Marsh I-95 exit. One pulled over a car north bound, southbound. You sure its not MSP that owns these?

What I was told

Does MTA have jurisdiction on I95 in Whitemarsh?

The way it has been explained to me in the past.

MTA handles:

I95 inside the Baltimore beltway

I695 between the drawbridge and Cove Road

Rt. 50 between Sandy Point and Rt. 8

US Park Police handle:

I 295 from I 195 to Kenilworth Ave in PG.Co

MSP handles everything else

Technically, MTA Police are responsible for ALL of I95 north of Baltimore City (due to the fact that is considered a "toll road"), but, due to lack of available resources, they have 'contracted' with MSP to patrol I95 between the northeast I895 interchance and the DE State line (known as the JFK Highway). Many of the vehicles used by troopers from the MSP JFK Highway barracks are actually MTA-owned vehicles, so it's possible that State Troopers from the JFK Highway barracks are using MTA-owned unmarked vehicles.

However, MSP does also own a good amount of un-marked high-preformance vehicles, especially in Western MD.
