MSP Talk Group 8336 ??

All of the MSP TGIDs are 5 digit numbers. Most of the 4 digit TGIDs were old "Big Dig" talkgroups, along with a few other non-MSP users.
What types of communication have you heard on it? If you say it "doesn't sound police like" then we can probably rule out a county sheriff user. Maybe radio technicians?

They are Radio Techs. I believe these are the extra personnel brought in to work on the 800 system rebanding project.

There are other not so active talk groups with 4 digits, 8336 is used by a few radio technicians.

I have it from an internal source that these are radio techs that work for the Fed govt and are working on radio projects that have to do with UASI and local stuff. The same techs are also on the other tech chennals.
They probable the radio techs working at the reband center in Shrewsbury.
I've heard the radio techs on the radio tech groups also.

This originally was MIT Campus PD Ch.02, now being used by the Radio Techs [Boston, MSP, Cambridge and Contract] for the Rebanding that is on-going. The Rebanding also includes any needed Narrowbanding for the Trunks and Conventional Systems [ITACs, etc]

How do you know they are doing rebanding? The other day they were working on a Metro Fire repeater and one was in providence doing something down there.

From monitoring the traffic for months, since they began using it.
a.) Coordination of radios coming in for reprogramming
b.) Patches being enabled
and much other stuff out there

Not really, just a casual scannist listening and reporting what I'm hearing. I live in Spencer and take the train from worcester to Boston and have my 396t w/ headphones for the ride into and out of work I spoke with some folks and they told me what they knew, thats all. I heard one guy saying today that he was at GHQ and was running a test oin a microwave system. They were giving out some voltage readings.
Not much interesting stuff to hear soundls like mainly just techno stuff.
