Kitchen

Steve -

You'd better hang on to that sweet, tolerant wife of yours. If I installed a post like that in our kitchen, when my wife came home from work, I'd be UNinstalling it - quickly!

Nice post - thanks for sharing.

We've been married twenty plus years - and she hasn't griped about all the wires yet. Actually - to be fair - she's an artist and I let (yeah right) her have a whole room for her own art studio. It's a good trade-off. She might say something if I installed a radar - but I really don't have to because I subscribe to several over the Internet.

That must be one hell of a kitchen; any chance we can get some shots of how your shack relates to the rest of the kitchen?

I'm always curious about stuff like that :) but it does look great!

Steve - truthfully, the only thing that matters is whether this works for you and you and your wife are both OK with it. I've found that kitchens seem to be the central point of the house, in most cases, so having your post in your kitchen sounds like a neat idea. For any of us, having the post in a room where you WILL use it is important but it's also important to have it in a place where you can monitor while also interacting with others.

Thanks for sharing.

When you said KITCHCOM, I expected to see a scanner next to the toaster.

Man was I wrong!

Very nice setup you have.
You must cook up some nice food and do so whilst listening to the world.
The service monitor is a nice addition too.

Regards, Commscanaus.

Scanners + Wife + Kitchen = Bad???? Wait no good!

Uh... I want your kitchen. I want your Wife and, I want your Equipment. Want to swap your life for my life? I am single!

Looks good. Can we see a pic of the entire kitchen to see how it fits in? How about some Antennas!

I've just added two new scanners - a RS Pro-2050 to relieve the UNIDEN396 for MILAIR only and a RS Pro-18 for more public safety (redundant) coverage. I'll post new photos of KITCHCOM soon.

nice setup!

i can't tell from the pics is that 2001 a D revision? i used one just like it for about 10 years. i actually prefer to use it for cavity tuning or setting delay on our paging simulcast, my 2600 is just too slow updating the screen for real time adjustments!
