So after some coaxing by some freinds I finally gave in and put up a tower, and suprisingly I had my wife's approval!! Here are the results:

Main tower with a Channel Master CM4228 for OTA HDTV + a CM7778 pre-amp

I have it aimed towards Toronto and Buffalo:

I have added a Directional 800 Mhz Yagi pointed at Toronto/York/Peel as well as a omni-directional UHF Magmount that picks up Fleetnet better than any VHF antenna I have ever owned.. it also kicks butt on UHF from Buffalo:

A View from the back of the full tower:

Entering the house.. I have since added a 3rd hole:

The view of the tower from the front is minimal:

So what does this beast pickup? Well I am located in North Oshawa and am at the top of a hill, from my roof I can see across the lake on a clear day..

For HDTV I am getting all the Toronto, Buffalo, Hamilton and sometimes Erie and Rochester HDTV channels... around 38 in total. 30 at all times.. 38 in tropo.

For Scanning I can pull in Fleetnet towers from both Zone 1 and Zone 2 - Britannia in the west, Font Hill/Skylon in the south, Edgar/Pontypoll/Sunderland in the north, Cobourg in the east as well as anything inbetween! For 800 TRS I can pull in Toronto (N,S,E Towers), Peel Region. Hamilton, York, Durham, NFTA Metro and on a good night Halton - Oakville Tower. On the UHF band I can pull both Rochester and Buffalo with about 90% signal strenght.

Nice. But if you have the slack perhaps put some outside? Ice buildup will not be good for those cables you might also want to angle them down anyway to prevent water penetration in the future. Just a suggestion but nice work!

Well done-your job is so pro that the tower and all its equipment still looks more attractive than that hokey crooked cable on your neighbor's wall LOL:D

It goes around 2 - 3 feet in the ground .. no cement used so the tower is naturally grounded. The antennas are hooked in to some commercial surge protection.. together that it more than enough... I do no tdo any transmitting either..

When The Snow is Deep

Nice setup. When the snow is deep most people don't think of experimenting with antennas. But here is an idea or two. Get 2 2way splitters. In setup #1 put splitter #1 on the CM4228. Put the output A to your TV setup and output B to your scanner. In setup #2 connect the input of the splitter to the scanner and the output A to the CM4228 and B to your scanner Omni antenna. Good luck.

Look like a very sharp install.

One of these days I'll finally get mine done; so far just Antenna Tower Mass in the air for the last 5 years but haven't gotten around to installing any antennas. One of those projects I started and then somewhere along the lines never got back around to doing.. Sad thing is I have all the antennas and coax. Just lack time...

Looking at yours; makes me want to work on it gain....
