SDS100/SDS200: My new SDS100 will not read with USB

Okay, I got it now. Mini, not micro. Got it.


I tried two cables that I use to program other radios. The USB drivers show as the following. Sentinel just asks for an SD card. I just tried with a fresh install on a different PC and see the same thing. Does the SDS100 program over USB?

Sentinel is saying its not seeing an sd card. Are you putting the scanner into Mass Storage Mode when prompted?

No. I did do a search and tried plugging in the scanner with it off, then turned it on. I wish I tried before buying upgrades.

The scanner just starts normally.

Scanner needs to be powered on for the prompt to come up. Does the scanner's port work to charge the scanner while powered off?

Okay, I did a Google search and found it needs to be the mini and not micro USB??? Why does it say charging by it. I guess I should read the manual.

Make sure your USB cable will handle data as well as power. Some are charge only and when you crank up the radio, it will not recognize the SD card.

Write a SD card on a SDS 100 without using an actual USB mini DATA cable like this

It doesn't even do that.... The mini only powers the radio. It does not charge, ( or program)
