To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:
Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.
For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

My unication g4 pager is frozen

I tried that it freezes up and is stuck in scanning and won't come out of it and when i turn the volume knob the volume level wont show anymore it wont pick up anything anymore no matter what ive tried.
It’s more likely that you don’t have correct info for the control channel, or the control channels changed, or you are out of range.

I tried a firmware update it didnt fix the issue. Idk what the issue is with this thing i dont know anything about these pagers.
Since no one will help you. and you know nothing about it, maybe you should just contact a dealer and take their advice. If you decide you don't want the hassle and you are selling it at least be honest in your listing instead of convincing someone it is in excellent condition.
I've had my original one since 2016, and haven't had any issues at all. They are great units if programmed properly.
Mine did a similar thing a year or so ago. Out of the blue wouldn't receive or respond in general. I also noticed the little 'guy' icon that shows if you are on/off duty always showed off (it's usually solid yellow). I had to send it to Unication for replacement.
Did they repair the existing one you sent in or did they send you a refurbished one?
Honestly I don't recall if I got the same one back, but I'm leaning towards it was a different one.
I've heard of a few people getting refurbished ones after sending theirs in for repair.

I had the same problem previously. I was able to fix it by reflashing the older firmware on it. You will have to use an older firmware than 1.30. I used 1.20 and flashed it and it fixed the problem. I then reflashed the new firmware after that. It will erase your profile completely, so make sure you have a back up.

Try reflashing with an older firmware first. Then update after with the current firmware. See post 31.
The pager is doing the same thing that it did last 2 years I've sent. This is the third one that they've sent me in the mail now I gotta go spend 200 more dollars. It is stuck in scanning will not lock on to any towers at all. Does anybody else have any problems with these pages getting bricked yearly or am I just unlucky because this is the third one now I gotta spend 200 more dollars and wait a month for it to get to Texas and back. And I need to Sol it and get rid of the next one I get. I'm getting an SdS 100. I'm tired of these things. These things seem like they're Chinese junk that break every year. And then the processor. It gets stuck in scanning and I can never be able to lock onto a tower.
Yes, but is this gonna fail mix this pager? This is the third one they've sent me are another refurbished 1. It's doing the same thing that the last 1 day 1 I sent it in. I tried the firm where flash last year and it didn't do any good. They told me through unication. Told me it's the processor and it gets frozen. For some reason, and then they don't even bother to repair it. They just send me another refurbish one. And it will just do the same thing a year later.
This seems to sound like a programming issue. It may be in your best interest to find a g4 user and send them your programming to see what is wrong. These are designed for FIRE and EMS PAGING on a TRUNKING SYSTEM and they work very well for that 1 System 1 Talkgroup not a Hobby Receiver.
What good is that going to do when it's bricked and it won't even receive any trunking sites it's stuck in scanning the volume won't work nothing works on it it's bricked there's nothing I can do with that I can't even get into it even look at the firmware version I mean I'm not going to have a choice but to send it back to Texas and get another used one sent to me and then sell that one that actually works to get something else because I'm done with these things they're junk they don't work this is the third one this is $800 total I spent in three years on these things I know offense they're good little toys but they do not work after a year or 11 months this is happening every year like clockwork that's nice that everybody else is doesn't brick and doesn't break on them but I've had bad luck with these things are just garbage I don't want them anymore.
You must have tons of money to spend and think your funny making fun of others.
Several others here are not having the same problem as you and you do not want to know why?
How am i supposed to know why i just hook it up to the g series software and program it and it works now it wont its stuck in scanning the volume knob wont work its a used unit from unication not my fault they send me used units to replace the one i sent them.
