Does anyone with the newer digital scanners have a compilation of NAC numbers for the ARMER systems? At the very least, for the Twin Cities area? I'm programming my XTS 5000 to receive in conventional mode and it requires a NAC for each voice channel if I want to mute all but my preferred talkgroups (I'm using F7E but I it opens squelch on any transmission that way).

This would also be helpful for others who want to set up NAC-squelch on their radios/scanners if they can search and find this list.

Thanks!

Thanks. I'd like to assume they're all going to be 40X where X = 0-9/A-F ... Anyone have any for the cities as well?

Ok perfect. I THOUGHT they were 40F around here but then I remembered that was the System ID as well so I wasn't sure if I was remembering something incorrectly. Thanks!!

mmtstc: Still not receiving transmissions with those NACs... Hmm. Are you sure those aren't just the system IDs? Or are those actually the NACs (I could just be programming something incorrectly in my radio)?

Yup, i checked each of them today. I havent done any programming with the xts cps, but would it be possible to just have an open squelch, or do you have to have a nac in order to receive anything? I suppose the digital equivalent of csq is $293 so i guess that wouldnt work...

NAC – Network Access Codes

$293 default NAC
$F7E receiver will unsquelch with any incoming NAC
$F7F a repeater with this NAC will allow incoming signals to be repeated with the NAC intact

TGID – Talkgroup ID

$0001 default
$0000 no-one, talkgroup with no users – used for individual call
$FFFF talkgroup which includes everyone

Unit ID

$000000 no-one – never associated with a radio unit
$000001-$98767F for general use
$989680-$FFFFFE for talkgroup use or other special purposes
$FFFFFF designates everyone – used when implementing a group call with a TGID3

I was able to get Ramsey County (2-003) working with 40D, and Mpls (1-009) with 409, as per the couple of NACs I found on Armer freqs.

40F was silent for 1-009. I still can't rx anything for 1-001 or 2-001. So that's odd. I'll post more as I get more sites working. But for now Mpls and Ramsey is good. If anyone else has pointers for the XTS conventional monitoring, let me know. Thanks!

So far:
Ramsey 2-003 = 40D
Anoka 1-002 = 402
Mpls 1-009 = 409

Still need:
Henn E 2-001 (NAC 40F doesn't seem to work)
State 1-001 (NAC 401 doesn't seem to work, nor 40F)

Ok we now have:
400 = 1-001 (MN Metro/State)
401 =
402 = 1-002 (Anoka)
403 =
404 =
405 =
406 =
407 =
408 =
409 = 1-009 (Mpls)
40A =
40B =
40C =
40D = 2-003 (Ramsey)
40E =
40F = 2-001 (Henn E)

This is referring to home NACs (not roaming/affiliation on other towers) on just the voice freqs, BTW. Since we're simulcast, etc, folks who roam to a tower other than their own, will (I think) inherit the new roaming NAC.

So if you're programming an XTS 2500 or 5000, you need to program the home NAC for the home tower (and since you can only program 15 voice channels to scan, you're SOL if you're out of range of the home tower, even if they roam/affiliate to and broadcast from another tower).

I don't think you're exactly wrong. I think what's happening is you're hearing traffic roaming on Hennepin East so they're inheriting Henn E's NAC, even though their home NAC on their own voice channels might be something other than 40F. :) That, or the scanner is decoding the NAC weird.

That is making more sense as to why you were seeing 40F. But I could be wrong in how or why this is happening too. All I know is that with those NACs in my XTS 5000, it's working as expected now.

Also, to add to the above list:
403 = 1-003 (Dakota)
404 = 1-004 (Carver-Scott)

It seems they followed the tower #s for some of these.
