Hello,

I know there is a Maritime specific Forum here, but thought it
might be best to try this Forum.

Live about 20 miles due West of Boston.

Have been trying for some time to receive the Boston Navtex signal on 518 KHz when it is
broadcast every 4 hours. (or any of the other broadcasts from elsewhere).
Have a really good receiver, and a "decent" 60 foot long wire end fed ant.

No luck. Ever.

Was wondering if perhaps the transmitter ant. the C.G. uses to broadcast
at Cape Cod is very directional, and pointed out to sea ?

Anyone successful in receiving Navtex broadcasts ? Location of your receiver ?
IF so: What's the "secret" ?

Thanks,
Bob
