It would be best to post repeaters that are actually on the air. There are many "paper" repeaters listed online. We should also just list the offset as + or - unless it's an oddball split. For those who don't know, the standard offsets are .600 for 2 meters and 5mhz for 440.

Ok, me 1st :D

The problem with "bulk" lists online is the incorrect info. There are a ton of the "Charlotte" repeaters that are in the middle of Gaston county. Lets try to stick with what is "confirmed" & "correct" :D

Edited info on 145.350 below

These are located in Gaston County, but some have far-reaching signals.....

145.350 Dallas NC on the WJZY tower (Capitol Broadcasting)
WA4AOS
-
Charlotte area Skywarn
Very wide coverage, usual coverage is past Monroe to the east, to the VA line north (on I-77), often to Columbia SC (on I-77) to the south, and various points to the west. I worked it from Asheville on an HT once when I was there.

Gaston County ARES

145.230 Spencer Mt in Ranlo
W4BFB (Charlotte listing, but in Gaston County)
-
Primary ARES repeater

146.805 Crowders Mt in western Gaston County
(GAARC) Gastonia Area Amateur Radio Club http://www.gaarc.com/
-
100.0hz
Backup ARES repeater

147.120 Spencer Mt in Ranlo
N4GAS "GCARS" Gaston County Amateur Radio Society http://www.gcars.org/
+
Tactical ARES repeater

147.555
ARES Simplex

444.750 Whetstone Mountain near Bessemer City
(GAARC) Gastonia Area Amateur Radio Club http://www.gaarc.com/
+
162.2hz
UHF ARES repeater

More for gaston County (to be edited later)

The next two are also owned by the (GAARC) Gastonia Area Amateur Radio Club http://www.gaarc.com/
146.805 - (backup to the primary 146.805) - Whetstone Mountain near Bessemer City
53.110 - (100 Hz tone) - Whetstone Mountain near Bessemer City

I'll add more as I have the full info....

if you want CURRENT and CORRECT repeater listings on NC ( and all SE USA) go to the Gold Standard of Information :

S E R A Repeater Journal (SouthEasternRepeaterAssociation)

repeater listings...articles...all hamfest info/ads....only $10 a year.

(SERA is also the official regional repeater coordinator)

SERA Journal is a MUST for serious users....

If only they were up to date, but they are not. Hence the reason to start this thread. I've been working too much to do any updating lately, but I'm working on the rest of the currently operating (and usable) repeaters in my area.

Repeater data often takes a long time to be update in the Repeater Journal. My former repeater is (224.74) is still listed in Norfolk VA. It's been in Chesapeake VA for several years now with a new owner/call. I've been trying to get the info changed for that long. Of course, because the ARRL Directory gets its information from the SERA states from SERA itself the same outdated info gets passed along.

Is the 147.390 repeater in Waynesville a closed repeater system? I saw it listed on a website saying it was closed.

Where did you see that? I see that the autopatch is closed, but nothing that mentioned that the repeater itself is closed. The PL is listed as 91.5.

Will be traveling to Charlotte during the week of July 7 to 13. Which 144 and 440 repeaters are open to us non club members? Are there any IRLP nodes in the area? Thank you for your kind assistance.
