Starting around 13:30 hours today, sounds like 453.050 (New Castle County Fire) became a control or data channel of some sort...Sounds like a Motorola control channel, though when I switch the channel mode to MOT, I can't seem to get a system ID. Wonder how long this will last? Though it's probably a closer agency to me that is now utilizing this channel since the channel noise is rather clear. I'm just pissed I can't pick up NCC fireboard

I'm picking it loud and clear too from the PHL airport area. It maybe a MDT channel because I don't pick it as MOT or EDACS either? Sucks they don't have a pl on it but that data booming in probally would interfere anyways.

Looks like an MDT channel as Trunker will have nothing to do with it. Hold on,
I just heard the data stream mute when voice traffic (Like we have been hearing patched from 800) came across.

Interesting. Not sure what to make of this. Anyone else near a 453.05 TX site have a data stream?

Hmmm....

It is not coming from DE. Must be skipping in from somewhere else. Maybe Philly put one of it's old UHF channels back in service for data of some sort.

I'm located 2 miles from one of the DE towers near Rt202 and I95.

Hello,
Confirmed it is a data signal for coverage mapping for Septa's new police TRS.
Have a search thru the 453 band and you will notice other old PPD channels have the same noise.

No, Not yet. Watch the Philly Yahoo group and here for updates. I would guess Moto P25 similar to surrounding UHF systems.

I wonder why they didn't go 800 like the city or just piggyback on Philadelphia's or there own UHF trunked system, isn't the reason for upgrading there system is so they can have inter ops with the PPD? I know the current UHF system atleast the dispatcher can patch into J-Band so whats the difference going to be with this UHF system going to be?
