listening via Call Log – eDispatches at 6 PM

tone - "testing Northeast Harbor Paging System (on) NorthEast Harbor Fire"

I think that is what he said - then he gave the names of 3 people on duty - and info on a upcoming FD meeting

eDISPATCHES has this listed as "NEHarborAMB"

Maybe FD and Amb share the channel - or they are doing the test on 2 channels at once maybe - ???

Hey there, Tonight was a mess up by a (i believe) new dispatcher. Normally there are 2 tone tests:

MDI Fire:
Dispatch and Announcements for the Mount Desert Fire Department.

NEH Ambulance aka Mount Desert Fire or Northeast Harbor Fire:
Dispatch and announcements, including the on duty personnel for the Northeast Harbor Ambulance Service.

rockinromac1 - can you confirm that I was probably hearing traffic off 154.98 via that eDispatches website?

Can you also confirm for the Town of Mount Desert (which includes the village/area of Northeast Harbor) - Fire and Ambulance on 154.98 - Public Works on 154.83 - Police on ?169.775?)

Heard paging system test at 6 pm tonight via Broadcastify feed - just 1 tone apparently - dispatcher gave the 'crew members on duty' names - no mention of FD

For Mount Desert PD - this is what I came up with from FCC ULS - interesting

Many towns were allocated frequencies through the NPS for use in that area. They won’t be licensed due to them being in the federal range.

Northeast Harbor is a Two Tone, that feed just doesn't scan fast enough for you to hear both tones. No mention of the FD due to that not being their dispatch channel anymore.

That Mount Desert PD frequency isn't used anymore. They use MDI Police, 169.775 as their channel. MDI Police and MDI Fire were given to the island agencies by the park service to assist in better communications.
