Both my Astrons - a 3 amp and 7 amp - are throwing out spurs all over the place when I use them now. They're both 15+years old so they don't owe me a thing. I don't have the tools to sit down and clean these up, unfortunately - so it's time to replace them and send these guys to the recycle bin

Anyone have any recommendations? A 6 or 7 amp supply - to run a couple of scanners and my RX320 - is what is needed, and certainly I don't need a multi hundred dollar - or more - lab certified one.

best regards..Mike

Check mpja.com. They have a ton of power supplies of various types, and they're pretty inexpensive.

You can replace the regulator boards in the Astron supplies pretty inexpensively and it's not a difficult job. I have a 7 Amp transformer type Astron that needed both a new board and pass transistors and Astron was happy to sell me the parts. That supply is still reliably running the old Motorola VHF fire Maxar monitor in my bedroom.
