Hey guys and girls!
I poked around the classified site, but I thought I may present the question here, see if anything is local. I'm looking for a used Motorola pager, either A.) Already programmed to 154.325 or is in that frequency range and CAN be programmed. Need a cheap, real time way to monitor ACFR here in Alachua County.

Any leads, please PM me or email kjmangan@gmail.com

Thanks so much!

I don't know how much a pager cost, but I have been seeing old scanners, early programmable units very cheap on Ebay, flea markets, craigslist, etc. Pick one of those up and you won't be limited to just the single frequency...

I'm on a tight budget with this one... If I could find a good portable scanner for 50 bucks, that would be awesome though I'm not seeing that on EBay or CL right now. I have a mobile and base unit, just would like a portable-- which is why I thought Pager-- you can find older Minitor II's sometimes for like 40 or 50 bucks and it would be small enough to have at work when I'm not near my desk.

Good points. There is a hamfest the end of April in Gainesville if you can wait that long. If you travel at all, you might check out CL in other cities. I recently found a pristine microphone I use for work in of all places, Minot! Never hurts to check.

Just FYI, the Minitor II is not programmable. It will require a crystal change and re-tuning if you can't find one already on the specific frequency you need. That'll cost you an additional $30, plus the cost of round trip shipping to a radio shop that still deals with Minitor II's if you can't get it done locally.

Some users are reporting that Radio Shack has the PRO-137 on closeout for $50. That's a hell of a deal for a hell of a good handheld scanner, and enormously more flexible than a single frequency pager. Definitely worth calling a few Radio Shacks in the area and inquiring about.
