Need help desiding

I know this has been asked somewhere but I can't seem to find it
I have a gre 500 scanner and I am going to get one for my grand son to listen to Which would yoou get for the money 150.00 range
Pro 164
Older Pro 97
Gre 310 a little more

If your grandson lives nearby, you may need to get the 164. I have a pro 97. It is a trunking scanner but not digital. It is a great scanner. In looking into the Database, your area has a lot of trunked frequencies. Can't tell if they are digital. Makes not mention of digital. Check that portion of if out before you buy any thing.

Out of those choices I would get the PSR-310.
Avoid the Pro-97 because it does not support rebanding.

Don't know what software you have to program the PSR-500 with, but WIN500 now supports the PSR-310.
