Unfortunately the time for you to listen was right after launch on 259.70 AM.I got them just after MECO today using a scanner (BCT15X) and a discone antenna. Now that they are in orbit they are using S-Band satcom on 2217.5 and 2287.5 to transmit their audio. You would need a dish,a down converter and a very expensive radio to monitor them.

From an old listing, I found some freqs listed for NASA re-broadcast by ham radio operators in Las Vegas:
53.1900
146.6700
224.9000
449.0000

Hope this helps.

He would never hear them in Las Vegas - he was hearing a ham repeater rebroadcasting NASA TV.

Yes I misunderstood his question. I used to listen to them years ago through the WA3NAN rebroadcast on 40 & 80 Meters. Im not sure if that groups is even still around anymore. It was really exciting to listen to back before NASA TV and the Internet. I believe their club was at the Goddard Space Flight Center.
