I live in the GTA and have a Pro-97. I'm very new to scanning and was wondering how I would program a talkgroup if all I have is an ID and not the actual frequency. I use Win97 to program my scanner.

Thanks.

Thanks for the info. I'm not looking for a particular talk group ID, but I sometimes read posts about certain talk groups and the only thing mentioned is the ID, not the frequency so I thought there was a way to program the scanner by ID.

You may be confusing the fact that trunked systems do not dedicate any particular
ID with any particular frequency, except at the moment the system assigns one to
the other. Without the frequency information, it is kind of like giving a street
address but not the city. Read the manual on Motorola trunked systems
programming, and the database record mcuipa points to. That's the only
way to get it working...
