Need help setting up.

I'm wondering if anyone in the Carson City area might be willing to let me clone their Pro-97 scanner. I am having difficulty setting mine up right. I can get the sheriffs on FM but in trying to set up a bank for NHP EDACS or ANY EDACS system I must be doing something wrong. I get nothing. After a traumatic brain injury, I sometimes have trouble with things like this, but I have been trying different settings for 2 weeks now and cannot seem to get it right. I am using Win-97 to program my scanner, you would think that would make it easy enough but I feel pretty stupid. Thank you for any help you can offer.

I'm in Reno but I know one problem I had - make sure if you are programing an EDACS trunked system that you put the freqs in LCN order starting with chan xx1 of the bank you are putting the system in - ie if the first channel in the bank is 500 dont use that first channel start putting in the freqs at chan 501 and lock chan 500 out - EDACS systems assign tranmissions to the frequencies in LCN order starting with chan 1of the system - Radio shack scanners start with channel 0 in each bank so if you have the first frequency in xx0 channel of the bank it will be one off and your monitoring will be sporadic at best - this just a suggestion as to what may be wrong if not hopefully there will be some one close that could help

I will go back later today and try locking out those 000 channels. I at least figured out enough to know that I needed to start them in 01, but I swear NOWHERE did it say to actually lock out the 000 channel. Not the 'Easier to Read Pro-97 manual' or the 'Harder to Read Pro-97 manual'. So maybe that will help! Actually, since I just woke up at 2am for no good reason, I think I'll try it right now. Nope, that didnt do it for me

I'm running out of things to try . When I'm on the channels page of win97 and I enter my freq.'s starting at 001 ending wherever. I have everything set to edacs then I go to the lower right hand corner and enter some talk groups, correct? Do these need to also start at 01 or can they start at 00 ?

Got it now! Dammy Fine! I found out I could upgrade my membership and download the data directly, eliminating me (the problem in the first place) from the process. Now I can review the data in my new Win97 file at my convenience and figure out whatever it is that I didnt get. This is THE way to approach learning the complexeties of entering trunking info in my humble opinion!
