I just purchased a BC246T,and i own a bearcat 890xlt,why is it that i cant get much on my bc246t and my old bearcat seems to find more stuff on fm than my new scanner,it seems like i cant pick anything up with my new scanner,is it cause my new one is a trunking scanner?

Do you know how to program your scanner for VHF trunking ?
Gov't of Ontario services have switched to a trunked radio system and it is no longer easy as just entering in a freq. and hitting scan. There are some preliminary steps to do to get you scanning properly.
What are you hearing on the Bearcat 890 that you would like to hear on the 246T ?

in conventional mode

i know the trunking setup,its just that in conventional mode isnt that like the 890?,everything is clear in that mode?,i get nothing at all in that mode
