need help with pro 106

i have a pro 106.every time i forget and the batterys go dead, when to replace them with fresh ones i go to scan and i get the nothing enabled on screen.. i can turn on different bank will.scan then but wont pick nothing up. last couple of times it has do this i clone it with another and it works till batterys go dead then it happens agian. what am i donig wrong what can i do to pick up with out cloning it every time. and fyi i am listen to a p25 system

That's not ordinary. The memory and the last scan settings should be retained once you replace the batteries no matter what system type you are monitoring. Is this with Alkaline batteries or rechargeable? Does this happen with the AC adapter also?
