461.1375 DCS047
464.5500 PL 67.0
467.7625 PL 74.4
467.8750 DCS723
467.9250 PL 71.9

In the above data, a frequency is folloed by a "PL+#" or "DCS+#". What does this stand for?

example: 467.8750 DCS723 - What is DCS 723
467.9250 PL 71.9 - What is PL 71.9

Thanks
chad

CTCSS and DCS are subaudible tones. CTCSS = Continuous Tone Coded Squelch System and DCS = Digital Coded Squelch.

PL and DPL = Private Line and Digital Private Line (i.e. Motorola trademarked names for the above types of coded squelch).

More info in the RR WIKI

Basically, "PL" and "DPL" tones are typically used on frequencies when there are multiple agencies using those frequencies. For instance, EMS agency #1 might use DCS 723 digital squelch and EMS agency #2 might use PL 71.9 - and even though they may be on the same frequency, they won't typically hear each other's traffic because the squelch will not break on their radios unless the radio making the transmission transmits a subaudible tone of that type / value.
