This is somewhat off topic but maybe someone can point me in the right direction or let me know if I should give up!

I was in an accident on Rt 13 in New Castle. My car and the other vehicle involved were totaled. The Delaware State Police responded, as well as paramedics and the fire department. After examining the police report today, I found multiple inaccuracies including the drawing of the accident scene, how our vehicles were positioned, and even the lanes we were traveling in is incorrect. The police report doesn't have the name of the fire department or paramedics that responded listed and my insurance company has not received a bill yet.

So my question has two parts: Is there a way to find out which fire department responded to the accident? And if there is a way to find out, do the fire departments keep any kind of record of what was done at the scene of the accident (positioning of the vehicles, clean up involved etc)?

I know this is somewhat off topic but I couldn't find any other website that may be able to help or at least tell me if I'm wasting my time searching for info that can't be obtained anywhere.

Thanks!

I think that you need to go back to the State Police and let them know about the inaccuracies of the report. They should also be able to provide you with all of the responder info (fire, ems, etc.). I'm not sure if the 911 center would be permitted to provide you with that information. Someone from Delaware may know more about that.

In order to figure out what fire companies, etc. would have responded, we would need to know the exact location on Route 13. I know that EMS will have a detailed incident report about the accident, but it might not have vehicle positioning info unless there were serious injuries. You might get lucky and find that the fire company has photos of the incident. Sometimes serious accident information is placed on the fire company website.

Hopefully, you and all of the occupants of both vehicles are ok. That is the most important thing.

Hope this helps some,

Rich C
