Has anyone upgraded to the 1.4 version for the Pro96/2096?

I dumped it in the scanner, however not using the scanner for voice except in very rare instances I doubt I'll notice much difference.
The ability to get rid of the update was the only reason I went ahead and did it.

Dsp 1.4

I use it on the Colorado State DTRS system and El Paso/Teller County public safety system with better results, especially with the El Paso County system, but I'm not too terribly impressed all in all.

I put it to the test today with my travel to and from work. I did notice an improvement in some of the low areas where the 1.2 would struggle a bit to pull in a consistant signal.

I am assuming this upgrade would have no bearing on the EDAC's system, it does seam to track the same as always.

I have been experiencing some of the problems it's supposed to fix, so I'm going to try it and see what happens.

I too have been experiencing the same problems, same as with 1.3 (within the first minute of the update). Digital decoding on the beginning of transmissions is way worse than 1.2. Back to 1.2 it is!!

Seems to work for me. The biggest problem I have seen is that I've been plagued with instances where the scanner would stop and just spit out "digital" noise for several seconds, either randomly or at the end of a transmission. I had this problem with the both the DTRS and El Paso County systems. I installed the new DSP last night, and on the hour ride home from work this morning, monitoring both DTRS and El Paso County, I didn't have a single occurrence of that problem.
I'll leave one scanner with 1.4 and another with 1.3 and compare them. So far, however, the 1.3 scanner has been spitting out the noise occasionally. That is the same scanner as on my feed, if anyone wants to monitor it and listen for it.

1.3 and 1.4 are pretty much identical - the only notable change was a fix for a bug where on occasion the radio wouldn't switch the digital to voice and you just hear the screech...

Which kind of sounds like the problem I was having...I guess.

So far not as many voice decode errors as experienced with 1.3. Not sure why but the audio sounds cleaner with this version on the PRO-96 with digital AGC off.

FWIW 1.3 and 1.4 work wonders for conventional scanning of the 700 MHz site narrowband freqs especially the simulcast cluster in Western Adams County.
