I just saw that on 02/08/11, the FCC granted San Mateo County Public Safety a trunking system with 90 frequencies ranging from 799.10625 to 804.70625, emmision types: 8K10F1D & 8K10F1E. Some form of digital data or telephony transmissions.

Does anyone know what these will be used for? Replacing existing conventional analog system? P25? Encrypted? SMCO has something big in the works.

8K10F1D & 8K10F1E is P25 (and control).

I suspect this is part of the Bay Area's efforts to create a regional 700/800 system.
