I'm here a lot
You'll have to elaborate on which service it is or give some examples in case someone is familiar with them.

Its a local PD in southwestern ontario. The basic 900 codes were/are used by Guelph and Waterloo region. From my research the set used are a generic 900 series and were not originally modified for any specific dept.

Here are a few of the common used so that a list can be identified.
922 Missing Person
924 Fire
925 Alarm Activated
947 Suspicious Person
950 MVA-Property Damage

The 900 codes I have heard are
900 sounds like something a teenager would have done but isnt a major crime.
992 vandalism (i figured that one out)
993 some type of domestic issue, maybe child custody.
996 domestic issue possibly some one locked out of the house.
998 something at the house but home owner not home.

i am assuming that the full range from 900-999 are in use but i havent heard the rest used yet.

Telling us the exact police service and/or frequency would help a lot. Saying a PD in S/W Ontario doesn't do much good.

I would rather not say what dept. Many depts get real touchy if they are made aware that people are/ might be listening.

The you are going to go nowhere, Perhaps you should PM them to Mike?
I dont think cops are going to be looking a Pm's on this site.

I live in Halton, here the cops use 900 codes. I used to drive thru Guelph and Wterloo Region, both used 900 codes. I'll have a listen to Halton and see if I hear anything above 990, with all the computer use these days with the HRPS they can be kinda boring.

Brantford, Waterloo Region and Guelph started off with 900 codes back in the late 80's.

Many other departments followed soon after that.

The fact that you've mentioned you're listening to a department that uses 900 codes has probably tipped them and every other department using them off already.

Guess the cats out of the bag now.

Probably true most depts know that they are monitored anyway. Its pretty sad when you have to be very carefull on mentioning details on a service that you are monitoring because you are worried that they might take action to prevent it.

well no pain no gain the guelph 900 codes might be a good place to start

The guy that run's the Waterloo feed here has the regions 900 codes on his website (along with alot of other useful info like CNI flags, division/patrol/unit codes, 10 codes what whatnot). The site is where he ran the same feed from before RR's services came along. Been handy to refer to a few times. Might be useful to you (which by the codes you provided seems like what you're looking for)...

I wont provide a direct link as I don't know if his site is run on his home connection like his feed used to but if you do a google search for "waterloo police codes" and you should find it rather easily.

Yes that Watrloo site does have what I was looking for. although the list isnt complete it seems to be the same used. I did find out that the list is in the back of the notebooks that Guelph uses but unfortunatly I dont have access to one.

break out the tinfoil hat...

The service isn't going to care if you are listening to them. If they did, they'd be encrypted.

Have they recently started using 900 codes, or has this been ongoing for a long time?

They have been using them for a few years. Fortunatly with the additional listing from the waterloo page I think I have most of the new codes figured out. Here is what I have

990 unknown youth commited
991 Graphiti
992 Vandallism
993 Family Dispute

998 some kind of house issue owner not there but heading to home
999 Other Admin. Details

These codes should be good for Guelph PD and Waterloo Region

Thanks for the updated halton list. The list im using is for Guelph and waterloo region.

we can add 997 as communications being overheard.

I heard this one while a cruiser was transporting a person to the station and dispatch was going to give some details about a call over the air. Once the person has been dropped off the officer said that the 997 was lifted as the person was nolonger in the car.
