Nice!

How is the wire terminated? Longwire direct to the receiver, or is there a balun in there somewhere?

Do you get any EMI from neighbors??

Hey where ya been? We could have benefitted from your knowledge a couple weeks ago with the whole Point Mugu operation:D-anyways the wire is connected to the D130J which connects to the radio. That discone cleans the noise, I discovered this by experimenting-I still get some buzzing but way worse with just the wire. I guess you could say the discone is acting like a balun:)-all I know is it is a great setup..just watch the loggings.

Hey Frank. Glad to hear the antenna mod is working for ya. You are very lucky to be able to put up outdoor antennas on your condos :) Looks like a good radio location too for the scanners!

Thanks Brandon! I am lucky here-I just hope I can keep her up there-she's dialed! That neighbor who asked is cool and he doesn't mind seeing that wire run above him-besides, I look after my neighbors in other ways so that helps.

Yeah that's awesome to have good neighbors. A few years ago I had some neighbors that *****ed about everything. Now we got some ultra cool folks next door that don't mind the antennas at all.

Cool neighbors is everything-when I saw that neighbor and he asked what I was setting up, I felt for a second the gig was up:D you can probably hear it in my voice in the video.

Hey Jim:) I bought 103' of #12 solid bare copper (3 foot for play) and it is looped around the stud at the base of the whip of the d130j with two lockwashers either side of it for bite then the whip torqued down onto it, then silicone sealed to hold out moisture.
Best $30 bucks I ever spent for that wire-BBC Singapore is coming in now between +20 to +30.

Atta boy. Nice roof top location - no real obstructions in any direction. Looks good.
Appreciate that k9:)
Amen! Looks pretty dang nice for a simple shortwave station, and a VHF/UHF station. Lookin' good!!
Thank you for saying so:) Yup just a listening station..still may get a ticket one day-especially the way thing are going-no HF hams around here in SF-maybe a handful.

You're darn right it will-I hear a lot of fenceline applications I guess it's good stuff for antennas.
Better start thinking about setting up your longwire if that rig is coming soon:)
