New Comer - PLease Help

I bought a scanner online (ebay). It is a Radio Shack Pro 94. I have been trying to read the instruction, but they are harder to understand than CHINESE ARITHMETIC. Can someone please help me. I cannot find any 6 digit frequencies. (This is what my friend told me to find) I can only find 8 digit frequencies. I cannot figure out how to 'save' the numbers in the radio. I live in MEmphis, TN and would like to be able to set this hand held unit up to receive Memphis and North MS freq. Please someone tell me where to go (well maybe, I should say what to do............ not where TO GO)

Did I buy the wrong thing to listen to Police calls?

Welcome to RR. You can find an easier to read version of the Pro-94 manual in the Wiki. Go to radio models, Radio Shack, then scroll down to the Pro-94. You will find the manual there. As for Memphis, it looks like it is mostly digital with some anolog. The pro-94 is not capable of monitoring digital transmissions.
