Kitsap County Simulcast

The newer simulcast frequencies are now being used (As I have personally monitored):

Fire Dispatch - 154.370 (no detectable tone)
Fire Response - 155.025 (85.2pl, repeated)

Sheriff North - 155.430 (85.2pl)
Sheriff South - 154.965 (85.2 pl)
Bremerton PD (not confirmed, just speculation so far) - 154.995 (85.2pl)

The following have been reported as being active (I have not monitored any activity on these yet):

Fire 3: 155.775
Fire 4: 153.770
Fire 5: 154.415

Some of this differs from the original RFP document that was released last year (probably due to engineering requirements). So, other published stuff my not be correct, either. Some dedicated monitoring will fill in the gaps (or someone with an inside track to either Cencomm or the mobile/portable radio templates).

So, I have put ALL the Kitsap County frequencies in my scanner to check for activity - some previously reported repeater input frequencies my have turned into outputs, and vice-versa.

I just reprogrammed my PR 500 and Pro97 with the updated information that's been posted here. Here's what I've got from previous postings so far.

Kitsap county frequency changes.

158.880 south dispatch now 154.965(Confirmed and it explains why the previous frequency is now silent )

154.370 Kitsap county and Bainbridge fire dispatch .. (I don't know if Bainbridge fire has tac channel they use. I will have to find out for those interested)

155.025 Kitsap county fire response (unconfirmed) Listed as unconfirmed. I've not heard anything, yet.

The following have been reported as being active (I have not monitored any activity on these yet):

Fire 3: 155.775
Fire 4: 153.770
Fire 5: 154.415

I do have a PSR 500 file that will need updated with the new frequencies. If anyone wants to do that, that would be appreciated.

I have been listening to the new frequencies T68 posted for several hours today. I can confirm what he posted is correct.

My notes:

Fire Dispatch: 154.370 - same as always, same as the RFP document.
Fire Response: 155.025 - confirmed, different from the RFP document.

Sheriff Dispatch North: 155.430 - same as always, different from the RFP document.
Sheriff Dispatch South: 154.965 - confirmed, different from the RFP document.

I haven't heard anything on the other 3 fire frequencies.

I'll post anything else I can confirm.

I'm also hearing what I'm pretty sure is Bremerton Police Dept. on 154.995, which agrees with the RFP document.

Stavro35,

I don't have any experience with that scanner. Is the 'Step' set correctly?

I'm sure it's Bremerton Police Dept. on 154.995.

narrow banding?

doesn't seem so smart to me when narrowbanding is pretty much right around the corner.....

i mean, it's good that they are wanting to consolidate and make everything work, but if you are going to drop a quarter million $ on radio stuff.... probably time to start looking at a bond issue and taking your system to the next logical step... i.e. go forward instead of sideways

doug

I am not sure what narrow banding would have to do with vhf hi band frequency allocation? Is sprint/nextel taking over part of the vhf hi band spectrum as well?

OK, so if 154.965 is being used for LE 1 (South), what is the LE 4 (Car to Car) frequency?

I was just listening to some sheriff deputies and they went to 'tac', what is the new freq?

Good question. I'll have to put a radio in search when I hear reference to going to that channel. That's how I found a car to car frequency for my old hometowns county police.

The Tait TB8100 repeaters they are using are capable of 12.5KhZ spacing so the main investment is safe if/when they go to Narrow spacing. They can even be upgraded to P25 Digital operation if required.

Can anyone confirm that the Bainbridge island fire department is no longer using any of their vhf lo band frequencies? I am not hearing anything on them at all. I am wondering if there is any point in keeping them in any of my radios?

An FCC mandate to squeeze more users into the band, which of course includes UHF and 800 also. You will find that alot of new requests for frequencies are being issued as narrow band channels. Instead of having a logical progression of 15 khz i.e. 154.415, 154.430, 154.445, it would look like this; 154.415, 154.4225, 154.430, 154.4375, 154.445,.... 7.5 khz apart. If you look up 154.4525 for Kitsap County in the FCC db, it is listed as a frequency at Camp Murray.

Go down to the fire station and ask them. They won't beat you up or arrest you. They might even be glad that someone is interested in what they do.

I heard a dispatch for a fire call moments ago. They said to switch to fire tac 4. I heard the dispatcher on Fire 4: 153.770 communicating with units en route to the call. I didn't hear the units responding communicationg with dispatch. Is this frequency simplex?
