I'm looking to buy a new mobile scanner antenna for my Uniden BCT8.
Right now I'm using the interior "wire strip" antenna that came with the radio.

After looking at the mobile antennas on the wiki, I found this one:
Valor ProAm PMM3B
http://www.universal-radio.com/catalog/scanants/1190.html

Does anyone have this antenna and can say whether it will get the job done or not? I realize it's pretty cheap but I'm just looking for something that will work fairly well.

Does anyone have any alternatives that are better? It would be awesome if I found something that covers the CB range as well. The Valor only covers 100-1200Mhz.

I do have a separate CB antenna so I'll probably have to use a seperate radio for CB purposes..

I have this antenna on my truck and it works fine. I was a little taken back when I opened the package and saw how small it is but it does and good job and is quite sturdy. Holds up to freeway speeds quite nicely.

Even though the Valor is inexpensive, it's well made and that tiny magnet holds on better that some of the bigger mag mounts I've had. It does an excellent job in the VHF-Hi, UHF, and 800 Mhz bands but is worthless on low band, as might be expected from such a small antenna. It's a great value for what it does.
