What is the difference between a repeater input and repeater output and which do I input to listen to the frequency. I have been looking around some wiki articles and couldn't really find anything to simply explain it.

Another question. I am near an LTR Standard system and radio ref gives me a frequency and under Type it says RM. Do I just enter this frequency as an LTR system? Thanks for any info and helping out a newbie.

Generally you want to listen to the repeater OUTPUT. The way it typically works is that there will be a repeater (a device which receives on one frequency and retransmits on another) at a high location. "Mobiles" will transmit on a frequency (the repeater input) and be re-transmitted on another. A base (such as used by a dispatcher) may be "connected" via many different means to the repeater as well. Everyone listens to the repeater output, and everyone hears everyone else.

If you move your mouse cursor over the letters (RM in this case) it will tell you what they mean. You will want to enter all of the repeater output frequencies of an LTR system.

Um, you should not see anything like "RM" when looking at an LTR system. All of the frequencies for a TRS are located near the top under the section called "System Frequencies" and do not contain any abbreviation like that; that is an abbreviation from the conventional frequencies and LTR systems should not appear there in the DB. LTR and EDACS systems usually require that they programmed in LCN order or the LCN be supplied for a scanner to properly follow conversations. The LCN is the small number located just in front of each frequency in the block.
