In the past I have had a Bearcat 200XLT while living in L.A....But Currently due to my job at the Monterey Airport and the fact I am a Storm Chaser...I have just purchased a Mint Condition Pro 94...yet I have no real clue as to the local Police,Fire,Emergency etc...Frequencies for the Monterey bay area....
Does anyone have any advice or Frequencies ..etc..etc...for the Monterey bay area or should I keep scanning and "Hoping" to find these Frequenies by pure Scan luck!!!!!!!

THANKS

Nope, it's not POM. It's not Fort Ord, Fort Hunter Liggett, or Camp Roberts either. I checked. I found a monstrous frequency list of almost every single installation in California... Must be at least 1500 frequencies. I can't exactly sift thru all of that on Memorial Day weekend...

Good morning. It's full scale right at POM but it could be within a couple of miles. I'll try to double check when I'm there again hopefully as soon as July.

That frequency pair is the Calstate University Police at Monterey Bay campus.

What's up with that? Still MPs on the post from when it was Fort Ord? Doesn't CSUMB have a University Police department?

Obviously 142MHz isn't in the standard PS pool.

The CSUMB PD moved over to VHF several years ago so that they could talk to everyone around them (Sheriff, Seaside, Marina, POM, etc). Maybe the students escorts or something of that nature is using the 800 channel, but I know the PD is on 141.125. I have listened to it many times. The correct callsign for the 800 is WPGU284. Have fun.

Callsigns and the bad accident

Hey ScannerDude,

I have two questions...
Would you happen to know the callsigns of the Probation units?

And the second one...
Did you (or anyone else reading this) happen to catch the bad accident on Wednesday (6/7/06) fternoon at Hitchcock/Hwy. 68?

Man... Red, (CALSTAR) Green, CHP channels, and CALCORD = nonstop talking

Here's a few pictures...
chippers.jpg

That's the telephone pole with a few chippers standing in front of it ^
gettingreadytoloadpersonin.jpg

Thats SRFD's bravest leading the victim out to the helo ^
totaledtruck.jpg

That would be the truck that hit the telephone pole... ^
calstarpic.jpg

CALSTAR-5... ^
Viewofvehiclesandcalstar.jpg

CHP motorcycle guy, CALSTAR-5, SRFD 5500, Westmed ambulances, SRFD 5513, Westmed supervisor, and SRFD 55([I don't know the #] Brand new Ford F-350) way in the background.

-Both CALSTAR-5 and CALSTAR-2 were called in at this accident. My digital camera ran out of memory stick room when CALSTAR-2 showed up... ...:(... So, the second I heard CALSTAR-5 was coming [on CALSTAR CH "Green"] I hopped onto my quad and skeedaddled to get the video camera before they made it to the scene...
