just want to know if anyone has any updates on the Newington system thank you
There are no updates. When I have time I follow the system with my trx1 for a week at a time at a buddies house over that way.

I have found a few new talkgroups, but nothing with enough voice to give it an alias yet - but to be fair, I haven't looked since it's an old system and doubt anything I find will be anything more than a "bad decode"

I think he is referring to the new radio system...
On 12/12/22, the Council agreed to a Lease Purchase from Motorola for the new system. Just over $4 million. No details in the various town meeting documents but entering into an agreement with CLMRN was mentioned.

There was a article in the New Britain Herald recently that they got the money for new equipment to lease/buy from Motorola. Because of the parts shortage they can not say when they can start work on it. It could be a ways off. But it is all set to go when they get the parts.

It appears Newington is up and testing on CLMRN. I have found the Fire Department tonight at 19411. I have not found the PD or EMS yet.

The digital feed is about a second behind the analog feed. Using SDR Trunk to receive them

Thank you Scott. I was searching CLMRN a little Durning the week and did not hear the police either when I heard them talking on their system. I'm sure it won't be long before you hear testing on the police. I also read that the state might put a tower up on the Callahan property.

I would love to see an antenna on Fred’s property.

I am not getting the good a signal from the anew Britain tower and I am guessing that is why the sound quality is not that great.

I ordered a new 800 MHz antenna for
my SDR Trumk setup and hope that will help.
trying to do this without having to pay $700 forma
Sds200.

I have been put in touch with the person from the PD overseeing the move to the new system and hope to talk more with him this week.

I was using the Hartford simulcast tower, but I know they had said the New Britain site was giving them a better signal when they first tested it. A Newington site would be great.

I talked to Fred this morning and sounds like there are no plans to use his antenna for the digital feed.

I believe other town departments will remain there such as the Schools and Parks and Rec.

I took my SDR-Trunk setup to my office in Hartford and am getting a much better signal here. The sound quality is so much better now that I have a better signal. I am kind of surprised by that I figured with digital you got sound or you didn't. Not that you got pooer sound the weaker your signal is.

I had read about the possibility of the state putting up a new tower on Fred's property from the Fire Departments minutes. But Fred would know better. I think once they have the new system dialed in it will show if they need another local tower or not.

Heads up, I am confirming 19411 this is definitely Newington. They have a working fire on pain Road but I cannot confirm if this is the permanent talk group

194 tracks with what Nothingtodoington would be, the 11 seems reasonable.

Are you hearing PD, Fire dispatch, fire talk, Miss Cleo?

Police is not up yet. They just have the FF patched in through the new system but are still using the old radios.

I did catch something like Serv-Patrol-Newingtn yesterday and sounded like the radio guys having an off topic conversation.

i am waiting to hear back from the PD but this is still very much a work in progress.
