Nj Transit North Bus Frequency Plan

In a previous post from last week, I asked what each NJ Transit bus frequency for the northern NJ area is specifically used for. Well, I decided to do a little investigating of my own and realized that even though there are several "talk groups" assigned to their frequency groups, they still seem to use their frequencies in conventional mode. This is what I managed to figure out so far:

867.9625 - Express Buses to Port Authority/Mobile Unit Supervisors (weak channel)

867.9875 - Same as above

868.4625 - No traffic heard whatsoever, quiet frequency

868.4875 - Tunnel Approach Control Channel (fairly strong)

866.4625 - Perth Amboy Base, various private bus lines other than NJT (weak in the Union County area)

866.4875 - Several Private Bus Lines other than NJT (weak channel)

866.9875, 867.4625, and 867.4875 - (so weak that I cannot make them out)

THE FOLLOWING FREQUENCIES SEEM TO ONLY BE USED BY NJ TRANSIT BUSES, WITH THE EXCEPTION OF CHANNEL 2. THEY ARE USED FOR DRIVER ASSISTANCE AND TRAFFIC ANNOUNCEMENTS.

860.4875 815.4875 (weak channel) 01
860.2375 815.2375 (private NYC bus line) 02
859.4875 814.4875 (strong) 03
859.2375 814.2375 (strong) 04
858.4875 813.4875 (strong) 05
858.2375 813.2375 (strong) 06
857.4875 812.4875 (strong) 07
857.2375 812.2375 (weak) 08
856.4875 811.4875 (weak) 09
856.2375 811.2375 (weak) 10

Port Authority Operations/Terminal: 452.325 MHz

Hi..

I monitor NJ Transit on there trunked radio system and some of there conventional frequencies, I find it takes great Patience to monitor there systems.

I get the most by monitoring there supervisors and transit police.
