I have also heard the Troopers refer to the following conventional channel as Ch. 9:

866.31250 PL 192.8 Hz

I have heard action on this channel before, but very rare. Used as a BS T/A and "local" incident command (bad accident, etc.)

John Burricelli's State PDF File shows that frequency (866.3125 PL 192.8) as 09TA - Talkaround, and as 10RP - Repeater.

I've had this frequency and a few others on the PDF file listed as talk around repeaters programmed in for some time and have heard nothing on them. Though I don't monitor them much in the day time, but when I'm home and the radios are on they are being scanned.

I often wondering what does the Speed Trap detail use on the Parkway. This is often set up south of Holmdel in the Lincoft area. I remember there was I high band channel they used on the turnpike something like 156.9200 or something like that.

The trooper running the speed gun just kept calling out speeds over the air while the
others cars chased.

It's also possible that the conventional freqs used by NJSP are in simplex mode most of the time.

I do hear 9-T/A used once and a while, although its rare and you have to be pretty close to the units to pick them up. If you monitor the CIB or BCJ talkgroups, you will hear them say switch to 9-T/A on occasion.

That freq may also have changed due to rebanding, they have licensed these 2 freqs recently ad I have a feeling one of these may be the new 9 (yes same freqs as the parkway, however they are licensed for the Hamilton area):

Isn't 09-TA/10-RP in the frequency range that doesn't need to be rebanded?

Speed Trap Ops Freq RT 78

I can confirm that the freq is used for the tactical patrols running laser speed traps on Route 78. I close called them the other day, stored it and now hear them on a regular basis.

Thanks, R60 - I drive 78 back and forth every day from exit 12 to 40. I've added that one for sure!

Where did you here them?

Did you see 2 800MHz antennas? How can they do that and still be on B2-5?
