No Sound but see the volume indicator BCD396t

Just received my BCD 396T.

while scanning some built in systems I see the scanner show the volume indicator 3 or four bars while scanning, but I do not hear volume.

But on the ones I programed in the scanner stops and I hear the volume.

Also Totally Off Topic: Seems the built in VIRGINIA system is not setup correctly ?

Are you talking about the signal strength meter? If your monitoring a trunked system the control channel has a signal, but the audio is not present.

If you press the scroll control once you will see the volume setting as a line.

I'm sure the frequency information in the preloaded systems are out of date for most of the systems included.

That is probably what I am seeing the strength meter, I will look in the manual again for a possible page that explains all the items that can be displayed.

While monitoring a trunked system the signal strength indicator constantly displays the control channel signal strength. "I only wish" that I could read at least 4 bars of signal strength every time that I am scanning the trunked systems around me.
