I hear the beeping...every 3 seconds.
It is continuous and annoying, covering the audio even. I doubt that it is the warning activator since it is disruptive and I have never heard that noise when we have any other sort of severe weather. I am not getting any alerts on the SAME receiver either.

I'm visiting here in Moore (I-35 & 12th St area) and can't receive any NOAA WX radio signal whatsoever on 162.400. I'm trying to monitor with a BC296D using a standard rubber duck antenna. Could there be an outage of some sorts, or am I in a poor coverage area?

I don't believe that there are any other sites around you.

The site is in OKC and puts out a "foot warming" 1000 watts. You might have a setting wrong on your scanner or there is just no signal in your area. Are you in the SAME receive only mode? Are you showing anything at all on the signal?

Here is the table of OKC TX sites:
Call Sign, Site Name, Site Location , Frequency, Power
WWG97 Altus Altus 162.425 1000

I've been attempting to monitor the WX radio using the "service search" function. After I hit the "service" button, it scans everything in the 161.650-162.550 range, however I can't get a signal on ANY of the frequencies. I don't have the SAME only receive mode enabled at this time. It's beginning to look like I'm in a no signal area. Initially, I tried to monitor in my hotel room, so I thought the walls, etc was interfering with reception. I also tried relocating outside in the parking lot, which gave me zero results.

Anyone hearing a continuous beep about every 3-4 seconds. I am receiving it on all of my radios around the norman area.

Several years ago, I was informed that it was to indicate that the transmitter was operating at reduced power and that it needed attention.

If the transmitter is operating on low power, that could be the reason for my lack of reception here in Moore...makes sense.
