New guy to Uniden scanners, and particularly to SDR and Digital scanning.
I have an SDA 100 which I am learning (best I can) to use. I have encountered an anomaly, abou which I hope someone with experience can provide some guidance.
Everything seems to work as it should (it puts out audio and an occasional "10-4," much as an A/C that puts out cool air can be said to be working as it should. Things that go on internally in the process are beyond my ken.

Scanning the entire database, several systems enabled including Nationwide Rail, Aviation, some trunked and conventional Law/Med/Fire. Not selected for scan is any Weather channel.

When I reach a certain areas in my house (don't know about outside yet, haven't had a chance to drive it around), I am assaulted by The National Weather Service at full volume. It seems to leak through sometimes when I have Nationwide RR selected. I can't seem to get rid of it, so I wind up turning off RR.

Any clues for me?
Need more details?

Is that a SDS100? It sounds like you may need to turn off weather priority.
It is an SDS 100. I do not have WX Priority on, nor do I have WX selected for scan. It comes in when I am scanning RR channels, with a frequency indicated that is not what I expect from the WX channels. I will make it a point to note the indicated frequency when next I get a chance.
Thanks!

Given that the RR and WX frequencies are fairly close together, it's possible that that a local strong WX transmitter is overloading the receiver and bleeding through to the RR frequencies. Try turning on attenuation on the troublesome channels.

I have noticed that some of the rail frequencies carry weather in my area too. Only thing I can suggest is to avoid those channels when you find them.
I did a temporary avoid on the suspected channel, but the suggestion about attenuation looks interesting also.
Thanks

I'll check that out. Just another of the gazillion features I have to learn.
Thanks

Try changing between Normal and Invert filter setting and also the IFX. Stop scanning on that interfered channel by pushing the channel button. Then go into menu to settings and filters and change the setting and back out of the menu to go back to the channel and check if the interference are gone. If not, then push Fn and then 7 to toggle IFX on and check.

IFX are set per channel frequency but filters can only be set per department in a favorite list, so it will affect all frequencies in that department. If different RR frequencies needs different filter settings then move the ones needing a different setting to a new department.

The Global setting in the menu will apply to all frequencies in the scanner so you would want to make favorite lists that can be set with departments that will have those individual filter settings.

This suggestion did the trick. I got the WX feed again through the RR system. Stopped on the affected channel, did Fn7 to toggle IFX. No more interference. Would not have thought of this myself. I appreciate your help and all the tips from everyone else. Muchos thanks!
