My friend had a site that told of when the NOAA satellites would next be passing over various timezones but I can't remember the URL. I want to coordinate when to listen in from my location in the Eastern Standard Time Zone.

found this through Google.

5) When do the NOAA satellites pass over my area?
There are at least three web sites that interactively show the current location of the satellites, and what they are viewing. Try the NASA JTrack site, Heavens-Above in Germany, or the Earth Viewer.

Hope this is what you looking for.

You can check out my WXsat pictures here:

Some are good and some not so good. Some of the better ones are about halfway down the page.
The picture quality is directly related to how high a pass the bird is making. Pretty cool in any case.
WXSat builds the page, and I added the "Satellite Positions" image using a link to Orbotron running on the same machine that runs WXtoImg.
I am using a AR5000 receiver, and an National RF WX-137QA antenna:

The antenna makes all the difference. A dedicated satellite antenna (either a helix or a turnstile) dramatically improves the signal and will let you hear the signal for much longer.
Wxtoimg is also great software for putting the picture together in many different formats.
