especially the unpowered simple extension cables, the active cables have given me more success.Try to avoid USB extension cables. Most of them are junk from the word go.

I must have purchased good ones - I use 10' unpowered USB 3.0 extensions and Nooelec SDRs with no problems. The Nooelecs are 0.5ppm error, so they need little correction; mine don't use any. I have one good 10' extension as well, the problematic ones are the little cheapo 1 to 3' disposable ones. For distance runs of 10' or more, I was referring to the powered USB repeater extensions that go out to 30' w/o an issue...I must have purchased good ones - I use 10' unpowered USB 3.0 extensions and Nooelec SDRs with no problems.
