The county took over the Bethlehem P25 Phase I 3 subsite, 6 channel simulcast system (2AF) in 2019, and is now in the process of expanding the system in stages to ultimately become a 12 subsite, 10 channel 800 MHz Phase II countywide system, with a planned completion date of end of 2026.
- The first stage (June 2024) will be to create a new 4 subsite, 6 channel simulcast cell that will operate alongside the existing Bethlehem cell, using a different set of frequencies
- The second stage (end of 2025) will be to add 5 additional subsites and 4 additional channels to the previously created cell, bringing the total to 9 subsites and 10 channels
- The final stage (end of 2026) will be to reconfigure the original 3 Bethlehem subsites so that they use the same 10 channels as the other cell, becoming a single 12 subsite, 10 channel countywide cell
