It clearly states the PRO-97 is "Nearly mint condition" and comes with antenna and battery holder. A Diamond antenna can be purchased for an additional $20. I did not spend the extra $20 as I did not want the Diamond antenna.

In a list of private emails I was told the scanner would be shipped "tomorrow" USPS Priority mail and would have it TUE or WED (Mon was a holiday). I received it today, Friday.

But what I received was ONLY the scanner. NO antenna. NO yellow battery holder. Oh yeah shame on me for thinking that a "nearly mint condition" scanner would include at least the original accessories. I guess I should have asked it it would come with knobs too, or anything else that can be removed and sold separately.

This person has signed al of their emails "Jody", but the shipment came from "David (last name omitted here)". There is more to this .. but that's the meat.

I had a problem with this person, in the way of not hearing from Her/Him after they said
they would buy a Pro-2045 from me. One excuse after another about when they would
be able to send the money,etc.,etc. I'm sorry to hear of your problem.

First of all EJM, I tried to pay you for that PRO2045, When i did PAYPAL stopped my payment due to a high risk of fraud,I called paypal and I could not pay you from my paypal account cause there was disputes filed against you. I had told you that before. I have the email from paypal stating this. Then you wanted a postal money order, I think NOT. As for the PRO97, IT DID come with battery holder. I was not aware of a yellow holder, and the radio WAS VERY nice. It did not have a box or manual, nor did I state that. I tell ya, alot of you guys are real jerks. I even offered to buy the radio back.It was well worth 100$. If you cant tell im a little pissed. He sent me email after email thining he was getting screwed, acting all nervous about the deal from the start. I expected him to complain about about somthing. My offer still stands, I will buy the radio back even though you are avting like a little girl about this.

Sorry to hear about a bad deal. I almost bought it from him but I diden't know him so I decided to buy new. Why buy a used scanner For $120. From someone you don't know when for $30. more you can buy new?

Since this is the forum to explain how deals went with people, I guess i should stand up for myself:

As for the PRO97 I sold, I explained the radio like I do every other one I sell. I had no knowlege of a Yellow battery holder. I shipped the radio within 48 hours of receiving the money. I shipped the radio from Georgia to California via USPS priorirty mail, It took 4 days to arrive to him. I offerd the buyer a full refund as soon as it seemed he expected the orignal packaging and yellow battery holder, he never relied to my pm and chose to post this in public that I am a bad guy. If you ask me this is Very poor on his part. I made every attempt to make a honest deal. It is not fair that he has made it out like this. If he was truley dissatisfied he would have accepted a refund. This should not have been handled this way. As i stated the refund offer still stands, its not about money to me, its about my reputation and character.

EJM and the PRO2045: I tried to pay this guy over and over, When paypal would not let me send a payment to him I even called paypal to try to get around this. They told me that there was a HIGH possibilty of fraud so I could not use my credit card to pay him. This happens when thier is open disputes against the person that you are trying to pay. I then pm'd EJM back and told him NO deal and explained it to him, He then wanted a postal money order. With the above information I could not send him a postal money, he did not seem trustworthy. How could you blame me? Since EJM has chosen to slam me in a public forum and deface my character I will post all information that I have to back this up. I will stick up for myself as I am not a con, thief or in no way deceptive. All this Is just plain wrong.

I was very angered to see this when I first posted. Its seems people enjoy ganging up on someone. Well I wont be the guy. As I am thinking more, I do believe I will send the buyer of the Pro97 a FULL REFUND AND YOU KEEP THE RADIO. Hows that? Its not worth it to me for you to riun my repution of what was a certain misunderstanding. Expect your refund within 24 hours and Enjoy your FREE Pro 97. i assume I wont have to hear anymore about it from you!

Just my 2 cents, if you buy something and you feel the description of the product was incorrect,contact the person and give them 3 days to respond.Now if they dont respond then you should leave negative feedback about the transaction.However if the person is willing to give you your money back then I believe you should allow them to do that before trashing them on the forum.Allow the person to make it right,if they dont then by all means go for their head..JMO

Let me say, Zguy1243 (Jody) is a clean guy & a Good buddy of mine. I've bought a couple radios from him in the past (PRO-2042,PRO-97) & He's purchased from me as well. NEVER have I had any trouble with him.

Very trustworthy.

Well there you go. He's offered to refund you, you keep the 97, and everyone is happy. If you get your refund, hush mouthing, and be happy that he wanted to make things right, no matter the cost to him.

That right there tells me he's upfront, no matter what I posted earlier about not trusting some ppl. Yeah, some ppl you can't trust, but if I sold someone a scanner and they were not 100% satisfied, I'd do anything to make it right. I probably wouldn't go as far as to tell them to keep it and still refund them, but I would offer to pay shipping back to me, and also a full refund.

Give the guy a break. If you get a refund and still keep the 97, be happy.

gmclam, IMHO your post here was uncalled for until you contacted the seller and gave him a chance to make the deal right. Really thought whats the big deal, you got a PRO-97 for $100 and he forgot to put the antenna in the box.

BTW mint condition to most people means that the radio looks like new, not what comes with it.

Agreed. Zguy shouldn't have to eat that scanner just to fix his reputation because he was maligned on this forum. Who are we to be the judge and jury anyway.

GMCLAM needs to either keep the scanner and refuse the money and stop bellyaching, or take the money, send back the scanner and quit bellyaching. In my book Zguy was making it right simply when he offered to take the scanner back. No reason for him to go above and beyond and eat $100 bucks to prove to me [or anyone else on here] that he is a standup guy.
