Not Hearing Boone County Pd

I'm not hearing Boone County Pd, is anyone else experiencing this problem? I have a PSR-500 with the RadioShack 800mhz antenna and I'm not hearing them. I download all the frequencies and talk groups from PSREdit. I do hear Dist. 2, 15, 16, and Rockford though. Also I remember someone I believe it was on this forum that they could not hear McHenry County, is anyone hearing McHenry? I think at least my area I should be hearing them as well.

Have you ever been able to hear them on your local site? Could be they don't have any radio affiliated with that site and you'd need to monitor one of the other sites to hear them.

I'm not sure what you mean by I need to monitor one of theother sites to hear them, I'm still trying to understand all this digital radio stuff.

Try listening to them as a wildcard or maybe another tower site will carry them?

Is there a way to change the tower site on the scanner, just wondering if that is possible and if so how?

Yes,but only if you have other starcom21 towers in your area,then you could look up the control channel frequencies for that tower here on RR.
Also try listening to the system as a "wildcard" and keep an eye out for boone county's tg or talkgroup to come up?

Ok, thanks for the reply. Right now I just have Boone County TGP 1376 on PRI and see if something comes up. I checked for the control channel when I pressed TYS for this and then pressed Analyz and it comes up with the control channel that is shown on the database here on RR.

What people mean by "try another tower" is that radio traffic from a talkgroup on this system is only repeated on a particular tower IF a radio from the talkgroup is linked to that tower. For instance if you are listening to South Beloit PD they will be affiliated with, and heard on towers near that city. Unless a patrol car (from south beloit) is on the other side of the county, traffic will NOT be heard on towers there.
